VW was caught in an emissions scandal and has already agreed to drop about 2.7 billion dollars over the next three years to cover the damages inflicted by nearly a half a million 2 liter cars caught in the scandal. The remaining 80,000 vehicles are 3 liter models which they've provided a buy back option for at least 20,000 and all owners will get 'substantial compensation' for the inconvenience.
